Submissions of up to five poems are accepted year-round
to our mailing address only; electronic submissions are not at this time
accepted and will not be considered. We read between September and May and respond
usually within six months. We are unbiased as to subject and form.
Please enclose a brief bio and SASE with submission and allow us adequate time
to respond. Sample
back issues are available to order for $5.
of the Review will focus on the millennium (with submissions accepted through May 1999) and on technology and the arts (with submissions accepted through May 2000). The
Review also plans to host a conference in conjunction with the publication of its technology and the arts issue. Poems in some way addressing the millennium or technology and the arts - and especially essays and interviews covering the impact of technology on the literary and visual arts are welcomed. Please enclose a brief bio and SASE with submissions and allow us adequate time to respond. Writers and artists receive a contributor's copy of the issue in which their work appears.
Now in its seventh year, the Egan Contest runs from July through October 28. Winners are announced in late spring. To enter: Reading fee is $3 per poem or $12 per 5 poems.Include a cover sheet with your name, address and phone number and the titles of the poems entered. SASE for list of winners only. Do not include your name and address on the actual entries. Prizes: $100, $50, $25 and 5 Honorable Mentions; publication in MPR for the winners. Amazingly successful, it inspired us to run a yearly contest.
Guidelines: Manuscripts must run between 20 and 30 pages. Read poems from the 1997 winning chapbook, Albert Einstein in Las Vegas, by L.L. Ollivier. We read manuscripts between January and June with winners notified by Christmas.
